Description
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro): the ACTH(4-7) fragment extended at the C-terminus with Pro-Gly-Pro, which protects it from peptidase degradation. It is an analogue of ACTH(4-10) without corticotropic activity.
It is studied in laboratory models of BDNF and TrkB expression, neurotrophic signalling and gene expression in neural tissue, and in preclinical models of ischaemic stress.
Supplied by Body Pharm as 10 mg semax of lyophilised powder in a sealed glass vial, with a batch Certificate of Analysis. Store sealed at -20 °C, protected from light.
