Description
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-44) carrying an N-terminal trans-3-hexenoyl group that stabilises it against DPP-4 cleavage. It is an agonist at the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotrophs.
It is studied in pituitary cell models of growth hormone secretion, in GHRH-receptor binding assays and in preclinical work on the somatotropic (GH / IGF-1) axis, and is used as a reference GHRH analogue in endocrine research.
